For Those Who Defended Huckabee as a Fiscal Conservative

My appologies if this was already posted. I looked, but found no other reference.

Mike Huckabee's political action committee, Huck Pac, has endorsed Don (Bridge to no where) Young.

I remember back in the fall and winter, all of the Huckabots where denouncing attacks on Huckabee's fiscal and economic record as unfair and unfounded.

NOT!

Huckabee's response to the criticism:

"I have been following the comments regarding Don Young today with interest. Your opinions are important to me and our team, so having read another comment just now asking for an explanation of our endorsement, I wanted to make sure you heard from me directly.

Don Young has been a consistent pro-family, pro-life vote in the Congress. Don also endorsed my campaign and stood by me in the public arena defending my record from false attacks when other members of Congress wouldn't be seen with me. I don't expect everyone to agree with each endorsement we make. I am thankful that we are able to talk about our differences openly and respectfully."

And he still doesn't listen. :)

Republicans otherwise it is open season...

Freedom of Religion NOT Freedom from Religion

Public spectacles on the equivalent of springer we should just resume the fine old tradition of sequestering them in proverbial attics.

The only people I heard call Huckabee a fiscal conservative were social conservatives trying to convince others about their guy. This doesn't surprise me one iota, nor should it come as a surprise to anyone else.

Granted, from my own ideology people like Huckabee have very little use, but endorsing the King of Pork isn't exactly the wisest of ideas if you want to demonstrate effective leadership.

"Once within the maw of Leviathan, degree of digestion is irrelevant." - Michael Fisk

... I can not, for the life of me, understand how it got to the point where even months after Huckabee drops out of the race and is loyally supporting the current Republican nominee, as well as dozens of other Republican candidates all around the country, that we still have these bitter, pointless, back-biting anti-Huckabee diaries.

To what purpose does one write something like this? Whom does it help? Surely the author understands that endorsing an incumbent congressman is not the same thing as endorsing every vote he's ever cast. Moreover, the "Bridge to Nowhere" is not the end all and be all of Don Young's career, nor does endorsing him make oneself a "porker." Do you even know who his opponent is this year? How do you know the person he's running against isn't 100% worse than he is on fiscal issues?

his opponent is Sean Parnell. He has been endorsed by RedState. He is quite solidly conservative and anti-corruption.

McCain for POTUS so the left can't ruin SCOTUS.

something to do in his spare time. Like the Terminator, he'll be back. Thus, as someone who sent some shekels to Parnell because it's the Don Young's of the GOP who, among others, have ruined the GOP brand by his porker ways, I find this information useful for future reference. It will remind me that Mike is either a)unconcerned about Don's profligate ways; or, b) cares more about incumbent protection than getting 3-legged stool conservatives elected; or c) both of the above.

Yeah, it matters.

As eburke says elsewhere in this thread, Huckabee will be back. There are three legs to the conservative stool. After national security, I am most worried about economic policy. All through the fall, those of us who had Huckabee figured out, had to listen to Huckabots tell us that Huckabee really wasn't as bad as the tax and spend liberals. His Arkansas record was distorted or an outright lie, according to the Hucksters. Damn it, Govorner Mike Hauckabee was a fiscal conservative! Evidence be damned!

Well, I want to make sure Huckabee's self-serving form of politics stays in the spot light. Maybe we can keep him from ruining another GOP primary.

Don also endorsed my campaign and stood by me in the public arena defending my record from false attacks when other members of Congress wouldn't be seen with me.

Huck is ostensibly collecting cash to help elect "conservatives" but in reality he's throwing $$ at incumbants who supported HIM.

And by the way, his "...defending my record..." whine sounds like Kerry whining about the SwiftVets telling the truth about him. Mike Huckabee is every bit as unfit to be POTUS as Kerry, just for different reasons. The guy is an utter piece of slime.
